Trek/VW atkal uzvar

2005 NORBA National series in Tapatio Springs, Texas, Trek/VW Pro Factory team riders eremiah Bishop and Chris Eatough started off the weekend with convincing first and second place finishes in the 62 mile marathon event riding their freshly painted Top Fuel 110 race bikes. Later in the day, Trek/VW Factory rider Ray Hall won the Semi-Pro time-trial aboard his Top Fuel 98. Ray Hall and his Top Fuel would return the following day to take the short track win as well.

The next day, Trek/VW Pro Factory rider Sue Haywood led the cross-country national before finally taking her highest XC national finish ever in second place. Like her Pro Factory teammates, Haywood looked sharp aboard her fire engine red Trek Top Fuel 110 factory built racer.

Two weeks after Jeremiah's win, the team moved on to the NORBA National #2 in Phoenix, Arizona. Chris Eatough put his stamp of authority on the Marathon National there when he easily outdistanced the competition and won the 82 mile race with almost ten minutes to spare.

Both the Top Fuel 110 ridden by the Pro Factory riders and the Top Fuel 98 ridden by the Factory riders use an OCLV Carbon 110 front triangle – the same material used to build Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France winning Madone 5.9. And like Lance’s bike, not only is each and every Top Fuel mountain bike handmade at the Trek factory in Waterloo, Wisconsin, but every bike we sell is exactly like the bikes we race.

All three Pro Factory riders continue to rely on the most race-proven drivetrain on the circuit –Shimano XTR. From the derailleurs and pedals to the Dual Control brake/shift levers, the Shimano name inspires confidence with every pedal stroke. As fast as the lightweight OCLV frames ride, every team rider looks for the most efficient and powerful brakes available - and that’s what they get with their Shimano disc brakes.

Just as venerable a name in racing circles as Trek and Shimano is Rock Shox - the suspension company that started the mountain bike suspension revolution back in 1989. Every team bike is outfitted exclusively with a Rock Shox Motion Control suspension package. Currently, riders are allowed to choose between the lightweight champ World Cup SID or the longer travel Reba. Rear suspension duties are ably handled by the new Rock Shox MC3 with Motion Control damping.

Keeping the team spec in the family as much as possible, the Trek/VW team is proud to ride the complete line of Bontrager mountain bike accessories. From the wheels and tires to the stems, saddles, seatposts and bottle cages, you’ll find the famous “B-Dot” all over the race winning bikes. Remember too that just like our OCLV Carbon frames, Bontrager’s OCLV Carbon handlebars are also proudly made at the Trek factory.

From the Tour de France to the IronMan in Kona and the NORBA Nationals in Texas, no other company has enjoyed as much multi-sport racing success with a similar frame material as Trek. That undoubtedly has to do with the fact that unlike so many carbon newcomers, Trek has been refining their OCLV Carbon ever since they first developed it back in 1992.

Not all carbon is alike. That’s why riders like Lance Armstrong, Tim DeBoom and Chris Eatough all rely on Trek’s proprietary OCLV Carbon to get them to the winner’s circle.
